    1. A tender account of an unnamed woman's thoughts, heartaches, and response to the loss of her father. Although this was not a light subject, the ultimate result of this woman's experience brought promising perspective by book's end. Be warned that you might find yourself crying (especially if you're in a similar situation) so make a note of that if you're going to read this in public .y while getting a pedicure.Jinky is Reading

    2. This short story of about 24 pages evoked more pathos and grabbed me in the gut harder than most books ten times its length. The old adage of "write about things you've experienced or about which you have first first hand knowledge" must apply with this story because I don't think anyone could have written this story about unconditional love, loss and grief without having experienced it.

    8. First of all this is truly a short story and I have no idea whether I even had the full story or not. The reason why I make mention of that is that I see one review and the details mentioning this story as having 22-24 pages but the Roxy Boroughs free download link I have ends up with only just five pages - so yes it is definitely a short story but it seems complete in the reading. Although capturing a "single moment" in the life of the protagonist - the story is a deep dive into an emotional st [...]

    9. Heartwarming and Thought Provoking ReadIn spite of the fact my read of choice is usually on the lighter side, Ms. Boroughs drew me into the character's world and kept me there right from the start. With a compassionate heart, she's skillfully presented a truth we'll all eventually face in a way that inspires appreciation for the blessings we have and a realization that tomorrow never comes - so don't waste today.Don't be fooled by the short format, this story is packed full of thought provoking [...]

    10. I really enjoyed both of Ms Buroughs’ edgy romantic suspense novels, Stranger’s Touch and Stranger’s Kill, so I downloaded her free story ‘Letting Go’, although the cover and description made it clear it was a literary short story. Ms Buroughs demonstrates her range as a skilled writer in telling this story of loss, grief and the resilience of the human spirit. She takes the reader on a deeply emotional journey that will be familiar to anyone who has been faced with letting go of a lov [...]

    11. Letting Go by Roxy Boroughs is an emotionally gripping story of a woman dealing with the loss of her father. Once you start it, you won't want to put it down, but the short length ensures you'll be able to read this in one sitting. I cried for the heroine's loss and yet, the author ended the story in an uplifting way. Kudos to Roxy Boroughs! I hope she will write other novels in this genre because she has a real flare for emotionally engaging the reader!

    12. Expect to tear up! Although this is a departure from what I usually read, I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is a touching short story about coming to terms with loss. It's wonderfully written and emotionally charged. I connected with the story's character, and found myself reflecting on loss and remembering my own loved ones. I will look for more from this author! :)

    13. A Lot of Story for a Short Story, March 30, 2012Okay, my first bit of advice, don't read this in public. I read and finished this short story while waiting for my husband to meet me. It is so emotionally gripping I was crying by the third page. Very well told and a must read for anyone who has experienced a recent loss.

    14. This was a cute, sweet, and saddening little story. The trouble was although it was quick I lost interest right after the beginning and found myself struggling through the rest of the book. I think it lacked quite a few things and to tell a heart warming story I feel as though I need to at least have an idea of who the characters are!

    15. This is a short story but wow did Roxy pack a punch of emotions in this. I so sympathized with the heroine. It is about letting go of the pain when a loved one passes away. The heroine actually runs away from her family in an attempt to come to turns with the pain churning inside of her. While I didn't run away when my dad passed away, I probably would've if I could've.

    16. Letting Go is a very well written, poignant short story that expresses the thoughts and emotions of losing a parent that I could relate to from beginning to end. Roxy Boroughs had me from the first words and held my attention until the last words. Wonderful read.
