    1. It was ok. Seriously though, this had the potential to be a solid, engaging read but the story lacked any real punch and the subplots involving an engagement ring and a previous employer spreading rumours were thin and superficial as well as being 'solved' far too easily. The story lacked any real conflict which was a shame as I enjoyed the characters. Not rating.

    2. I agree with another reviewer in that this had potential, but didn't quite make it there. We have Alex, a small time lawyer who wants something more in the big city and Niki, who is from the city but was fired from her legal job due to some shady dealings. They have a mutual friend, Max, who recommends Niki to Alex as manager of a recently inherited inn. Thus, Alice Street Inn.There were backstories disguised as integral parts of the bigger picture, but were not actually needed. For example, an [...]

    4. This is a good romance that reads quickly as we follow Niki Winston when she heads to Riverton, Oregon after being fired. Niki's friend and the sheriff of the town, Max Briant, thinks a job as a motel manager will be just what Niki needs to forget the past and start over. Meeting Alex Thompson, the owner, has Niki wondering why she bothered taking the job, but things change and Niki finds her new job is going to be very interesting to say the least.

    5. The last thing Niki expected when she went into the law firm where she worked was to be fired. Even worse, she was accused of removing documents from a discovery. Something she didn’t do. But her boss Jeff quickly forces her out the door. When confronted with making a decision of what to do next, she decides to leave the 9 to 5 routine behind and travel. She just didn’t expect her first job to be only an hour away from Portland. She also didn’t expect the job to come with a drop-dead handso [...]

    6. 3.5 starsI enjoyed this book of second chances and learning to let go of the past to move forward by Author P.A. Wilson. It was a quick sweet story to read. I loved the characters and absolutely feel in love with the town of Riverton. The description that the author uses to describe the Inn, the town and the folks in town, makes me want my own Riverton to go and visit.Niki must learn to move on after losing a job that she loved. So she sets off to a new town to start over. She takes a leap of fa [...]

    7. I received an e-version of this through a LibraryThing giveaway.I don't know why but I had trouble with this book. I read the first 3 chapters and then felt like I knew exactly what the rest of the book was going to be. I skipped to the last chapter and confirmed my suspicions and was done. It's an easy read. A nice romance I guess but way, way, too predictable for me. Some people like that stuff though, and while I do like the occasional romance I am not a die-hard fan so this one just missed me [...]
