    About Lisa Jacobson, Club31Women

    1. Hello, I m Lisa.Married to Matthew I knew that first night we met that I d marry him It took him three days too long, if you ask me to come to the same conclusion A few days later and it was all decided Him and me For the rest of our lives.Happily ever after. And together we enjoy raising our eight children. Before Matthew and the children, there were different kinds of days and adventures for me A season of studying in Paris Traveling through the Middle East Living in mud huts in the remote villages of West Africa Completing a graduate degree Working with Vietnamese youth in Little Saigon.I loved it all.But I really, really loved him.I enjoy sharing my passion for husband, home, and family on my blog, Club31Women I d love to have you join me over there You ll find I like lots of other things, as well Things like H agen Dazs mint chip ice cream, French press coffee, dark chocolate, and getting lost in a well written book I enjoy deep conversations and lifelong friendships Plus there s nothing like picking fresh blueberries in the summer and there s something about baking bread that s good for my soul. Most of all, I love God and am gratefully and grace fully saved by His Son.As you can see, I m rather passionate about my husband and children Crazy about them, actually And I m thankful for this life we live together I m not saying it s easy Not necessarily simple But truly wonderful and rewarding. And that s how Club31Women came about It grew out of a love for the high calling of wife and mother that so many of us share Yes, like the woman found in Proverbs 31 Not in the impossible, unattainable sense, but in the real life, grace filled, I love my family sort of way.So I hope you ll find it a place where you can come to find encouragement, inspiration, and, sometimes just plain cheering on.Blessings on you Lisa

    2. As a newlywed, I love reading books about marriage. This book is unique, however, in that it feels less like I'm reading a book and more like I'm sitting across from Lisa soaking in her wisdom. Also, I love lists and that this book is one long list of 100 is perfect! Lisa shares honest, tried-and-true ways to better love your man. I'll be returning to this read again.

    3. Even though I'm still waiting for that special man God will bring into my life, I really enjoyed this simple book that has some very profound truths. If you're single, don't be deterred - there is good, practical stuff here that you can even turn into prayers for both your future husband and yourself. This is a resource I'll definitely keep even after I tie the knot!

    8. A cute little book full of short ideas on how to care for and show love to your husband. There are 100 ideas included and so easy to read and focus on one a day. I think I'll keep this book handy and pull it out every now and then to remind myself acts of love come in all shapes and sizes, and a lot of it is simply revealed through my attitude.

    9. A Lifeline At The Right TimeMy significant other and I were going through the biggest "bump" we've ever had. I opened my bible while I prayed, read, and cried. Not an hour later this book popped up on my "suggest list". We decided to read the set. This book is such a great reminder of how God wants us to love one another. Thank you!

    12. This wasn't what I expected. Very short to the point bullet points, most of which I felt should be fairly obvious. But it was a good reminder of basic marriage principles.

    21. I read this book because my wife was reading it and I was reading the "companion" to this, by the author's husband, "100 Ways to Love Your Wife". The perspectives were completely different and I really don't know why. Perhaps men are a lot more different than women in their thinking. I have MANY sisters and some female friends who would both attest to and disagree with that. This book didn't touch the same subjects as the husband's well not in parallel, as I thought it should, but it made some r [...]

    22. Wow what a bookI just finished reading this book, and I'm so glad I did. I was married for over 16 when I learned devastating news, tried to make it through that but it didn't work. I am now remarried and because I had been married 19 years so I thought I knew it all. but I brought a lot of baggage with me and reading this book has opened my eyes to little things that can go a long way. yes, I'm seeing fruit in my marriage. I will be reading this book periodically as there is some great wisdom a [...]

    23. I love this book so much. My husband and I bought the combo pack when it was offered. We've seen such a turn around in our marriage. It was like God was sending us a reminder on how to treat each other. Most of what is in this book, is stuff we already know, but written in such a way, that it's like a light bulb coming on. He has started giving me little compliments everyday, at first it was weird, but now I expect and look forward to them. I've noticed I no longer feel unwanted, unappreciated, [...]

    24. "100 Ways to Love Your Husband" was a simple, inspiring book. It was extremely easy to read (only took me about a day) and is very informal. It goes through each way by number (#1#2#3) and often has a break between numbers to showcase a short story about one of them. Each way is short and sweet- only about 3-5 sentences. I found this book to be very sweet, plus it provided a lot of advice for me as a new wife. I believe I could take these suggestions 1 by 1 and easily implement them. In fact, I [...]

    25. 100 WaysI gave this book 4 stars. I think we SHOULD naturally at least know most of these ways of love. There were a couple that I fail at and should do. This book is more of a reminder of ways to love, stand up for and respect your husband. I liked how occasionally the author paired scripture with the topic. I will keep this book around for those days I get frustrated with my husband and need a reminder but for the most part it's a one-time read.

    26. Short and sweet. And short. Did I say that? Oh, yes. I did. 100 tiny little tips for loving your husband. Or if you're like me and you're not married yet, it's a good perspective on loving someone wholly and entirely, and being selfless about it. Not to mention honoring God first in your relationship. A good read for singles, couples and married folks. And let me tell you: everything in this book is helpful.
