    1. Summary: First, let me say that none of what I’ll say in this section couldn’t be found on the back copy of the novel. I wanted to provide a spoiler free review, so here goes nothing! This novel carries on after Janissaries, the first novel in The Theogony Trilogy. Lieutenant Commander Shawn ‘Calvin’ Hobbs and his special forces platoon just returned from a three-month mission to the stars. The technology they brought back will help, but it won’t be enough to hold off the alien menace [...]

    2. Why only four stars? Because I rarely give 5 stars to a book in an unfinished series. Why buy it? It is a rip roaring read though it is better if you have read the first one. Why do people expect so much? It is a great book in an action packed genre. It doesn't hold the secrets of the universe or the meaning of life. It does what a good book is supposed to do. It takes you somewhere else inside you head and entertains you. All the fancy details and pages of correct science can be found in a new [...]

    4. Great Combination of Exploration and Military Space Opera This second novel in the series is even better than the first. Kennedy's detailed voice in describing scenes certainly adds depth to his imaginary universe, and in this book, the universe, or the section known to the early Terran Space Force, is greatly expanded. The story becomes much more complex, as the Earth Forces meet more alien civilizations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    5. Chris Kennedy has done it again! He has mixed a creative mind with flight and military experience to produce another great story! It popped into my head while reading this book that this storyline would make a great movie about the Genesis of Star Fleet. The book ended with a cliff hanger and now I am anxiously awaiting the next book. Who knows? Maybe we will see this series as the next Star Trek movie!

    6. Fairly Good ReadThis is the second book I've read oh the Theogony series I've read, and I've enjoyed them immensely. The author writes with a simple, clear narrative style that crispy moves the plot along. while it did take some getting used to, I found myself enjoying the books immensely. I eagerly await the next book in the series. Worth your time.

    7. Now this will only attract you if you like Military SF which is a sub genre all of its own. I think that this is an amateur writer, but if he is then he is very good indeed. Read this in three days!
