    1. I seem to be going back to my roots of where I fell in love with romance in the first place! Cheryl Holt was an author I had found when I was in my "Historical Romance" phase. She quickly became one of my favorites and I haven't forgot my love of her stories. I decided to check out her "Lost Lord" series and I am very glad that I did! This story starts of with a prologue about a family of: twin brothers, a sister, and an older brotherwhen I say "older" he was all of six, and the rest were very yo [...]

    2. This book is so obviously the first book in a series. It is setting up the stage for an entire series so everyone had to make an appearance. I don't know why I thought this book was supposed to be the oldest brother Bryce's story. It isn't. It is about one of the twins, Michael Blair, aka Michael Scott and a do-gooder Maggie Wells. The series is about "Lost Lords". So the 3 brothers, Bryce, Michael and Matthews all get their own story. The sister Anne was already married in this book. Maybe she [...]

    3. I wasn't crazy about this book, but I did finish it. I was intrigued with the storyline. I did want to see what happened, but I really didn't like ANY of the characters. Caring about the characters is a big deal for me. In this book there were actually two different "romances" ( and I use that word loosely) and in both the men were obnoxious and the women were I don't even know how to explain the combination of naive and borderline stupid. The only woman who was somewhat interesting to me and f [...]

    4. I had been wanting to read this series for awhile so I finally gave in. I really wanted to love it but it fell flat for me. Michael was just an idiot for most of the book and a Jerk. I did not like how he treated the main character he was a JERK. I did not like how Clarissa did not put up much of a fight. She just gave in to what he wanted. I hate when a woman can't stand up for herself.

    5. Reviewed by JulieBook provided by the author for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookIf you like your historical romance novels to have a darker, edgier quality to them, which I most definitely do, then this book will be right up your alley.I thought the story accurately depicted the way women were treated in this era, no matter if they were gently bred or lived in poverty. Men still controlled every aspect of their lives and they were completely at their mercy. So, when Maggie f [...]

    6. 2.5 starsAs a romance this was a fail. On the steamy scale it was a 3 out of 10. Boring. The lead female character was just a ninny. Sorry, I find it hard to believe a woman of 24 doesn't know about male parts or anything about sex. The author spent too much time jumping around from character to character and not one of them was likable. There were times that I wanted to scream stop talking and stop thinking to the characters that spent lots of time doing that in the mistake of what should have [...]

    7. It definitely wasn't my favorite and mainly because if of Maggie. I honestly couldn't stand her. I continued reading it because I enjoyed the story line and different characters but it's almost as if Maggie was two characters in one. I liked one side of her and then the other side not so much. In left the book feeling unfulfilled which I hate. I liked M. Scott but sometimes he irked me too. Hmmm's probably just me but the characters just didn't flesh out for me. I really wanted to like this book [...]

    8. A Great Change In Pace For An Historical RomanceUsually in most historical romance the characters are high born and think they deserve a better live but in book 1 of hearts delight they are just ordinary army people lost and making the best in live. I really liked the characters especially Maggie who gets on the best she can until she meets Michael. Light read and it does get you in.

    10. Wonderful book of love and almost positive. Children separated at an early age, try to find each other. This book will be great for anyone who love a mystery plus a love story. Loved that Michael finds a sister and a brother, but his twin is still missing. They could always communicate by thoughts, so he tries that.

    15. This was an excellent story. Michael Scott is a tough hero to fall in love with and Maggie is just the type of heroine one sympathises with.

    16. I would have given this a four star but I found the story dragged on and on for about 100 pages and Maggie was a little annoying.
