    1. 4.5 Stars.“I think I’m in love with you. And I don’t know what to do.”I've got to admit to being just a little bit obsessed with Instagram, myself,so this was the perfect read for me.This series is firmly up there as one of my favourite MM series.Santino Hassell is a Master at taking two completely different characters and making them fit together.I was more than a bit fascinated by Ashton when he was introduced in book three and the fact that he's a bit femme was just my thing. To the out [...]

    2. Well, this isn't gonna go over well. Unpopular opinion ahead.I've never given Hassell less than 4 stars. I look forward to his writing like a freaking addict. I adore his writing style. I bask in the "realness" of the characters. Never let it be said that he writes corny, unrealistic people like a lot of other romance writers. HoweverNow don't throw anything at me. Ok, seriously, I'm not running, but hold back on the digs, my GR people! If you happened to read my review for Hard Wired, you saw th [...]

    3. ***4 Stars***”I think I’m in love with you. And I don’t know what to do.”“I don’t know what to do either. No one has loved me before.”The fifth book in Santino Hassell’s Five Boroughs series gives us a friends to lovers and opposites attract story that will take you on quite the rollercoaster ride. My apologies in advance for what will most likely be a quote heavy review….but damn, I think I highlighted half of this book! Ashton grabbed my heart and broke it from the moment he [...]

    4. Just Not Working For Me 😢 I feel sick saying this. If you follow my reviews or talk to me about books you know I adore Santino's books and consider him a favorite author. I was so excited for this bookI have been waiting for it. So to say I am DNF'ing this story causes me great pain. However, I am stuck at 26% - I am not loving this book. I hate Ashton. Not even just dislike him, I think he is so far one of the most self-centered and asshole characters I have read as of lated I have read a lo [...]

"I don’t know what to do either,” he breathed. “No one has loved me before.” And damn if that didn’t crush me."I was all over this book as soon as I heard about it- I mean:Santino + best friends to lovers + unrequited love I think this book was written for me. 6. What the hell happened here?!I absolutely heart Five Boroughs series and I never, EVER thought I would be struggling to finish the 5th book in this series, but here I am, dragging it. Concourse is so far away from the warm-hearted and captivating world Santino has created in the previous books! Ashton Townsend was shallow, selfish and living a fake life which did nothing to make me warm up to him. I didn't buy any of his reasons for being a "troubled persona".Valdrin Leka was a bit of a mess as [...]

    7. 4.5 Stars! There's one constant when it comes to a Santino book.Booze required. I was really scared to read this one. Some lower reviews among my GRs friends. And well bottom line this series isn't for the faint of heart. But in the end, I didn't think this one was near as "hard" to read as some of the other books in the series. Specifically Michael and Nunzio's book.Val and Ashton might just be my second favorite couple. Don't get me wrong, Val was frustrating at times. But he was all in when it [...]

    8. 3 stars "There's not always weakness in forgiveness."I had read a lot of mixed reviews on Val's an Ashton's story, so I went in with low expectations and an open mind. And while I didn't love it, I did enjoy these two characters. Concourse is the story of gay instagram star Ashton, or A Town. Known for being a partier and slutty after a sex tape from his youth. Val's mom used to work for Ashton's family, so the two boys grew up together and formed a special bond. Constantly in and out of each ot [...]

    10. *4.5 stars*Our boy Ashton finally got his story y'all! There is something truly special about the 5 Boroughs series. First, Santino Hassell gets queer, urban life so right! Second, the characters. The background is always New York, but there's so much diversity. We 've got teachers from Queens, uptight businessmen from the Upper East Side, boxers from the Bronx, rich Instagram celebritiesLayered, fully realised characters. Characters so different than me, but with the ability to evoke so much em [...]

    11. ➦I'm a big fan of Santino Hassell's writing and I absolutely loved all of the previous installments of this series. This book, while being quite an enjoyable read, lacked the same magic for me. ➦You have Ashton, this extravagant male model who comes from money, has a huge Instagram following and spends his time attending various functions. And you have Val, a boxer who is trying to make it to pro, because that's what's expected from him. They've been friends ever since Val's mother has been [...]

    13. 4.5 star, friends to lovers, done the SH way. *Gritty and grimy and powerful.*I loved Ashton. I've never met anyone like him and probably never will. He broke my heart. “I’ve been thinking a lot, and I realized I can’t do this anymore. I can’t be who everyone likes me to be—the outrageous gay boy with the crazy wardrobe and sex life. I won’t lie and say I don’t enjoy some of it— I love being on here. I’m just . . . starting to worry that if no one ever sees the real me, there w [...]

    14. 3,5 rounded to 4 starsI'm giving it 4 stars because it's Santino Hassell, it's Five Boroughs and Ashton is such an amazing character. I just want to hug him real tight!I'm a little scared I won't be able to write a proper review, but I really wanted to write something while it's still fresh in my mind. I promised myself I won't use "review soon" too many times. As time passes, I kind of forget things I'd really like to mention in a review. I'll start by admitting I wasn't hooked by its beginning [...]

    16. 3.5 StarsOne thing I can always count on, with Santino Hassell, is that his characters always feel so real. To me, anyway. They're flawed - and amazingly so - and they struggle and they make some awful decisions and though they eventually find their way, the road getting there is fraught with obstacles. And even if I can't directly identify with them, I can understand their motivations and empathize with where they are coming from.Concourse has two, very flawed MC's whose lifestyles [...]

    17. DNF But first - Look at that cover! Congratulations on your face young man. I'm at 25%. I don't see a plot and I think I literally hate the characters.Val is a hard working man. He has a couple of jobs and trains as a fighter. He's struggling to get by as he has to pay $1400 a month for rent and also pays for his sister's tuition. I think it said that. So yeah. But he never even goes to work. All he does is pick up a drunk Ashton at various sex parties for the super rich. The only other thing to [...]

    18. We all know Santino Hassell understands how to write utterly real characters. Men who are flawed and struggle with life and love. And Ashton and Val are two prime examples of that. Ashton: He is the ultimate party boy. Beautiful, hot and willing to flaunt himself in the public. Of course that kind of life style comes with a reputation (and the inevitable sex tape), one Ashton lives up to deliberately on the one hand, but starts to increasingly detest on the other. To me he felt like the lost ‘ [...]

    21. If i have to resume my feelings towards this book i'd say it left me mainly disappointed. It's sad, really, because i used to enjoy this series and after my lukewarm reaction to First & First I thought this one was going to be better but it's not. It's worse. When i read books, there's two things i put into consideration, one is plot and the second is characterization. There can be books with a mess of a plot but have such wonderful fleshed out characters that make me forget about its flaws, [...]

    22. ARC from publisherI didn’t discover Five Boroughs until earlier this year, but I can tell you right now that if I’d known about it before, Concourse would have been my most anticipated read of the year. It was anyway; as soon as I met Ashton in First and First, I wanted his story. I was desperate to know the beautiful man behind the people-pleasing personality and platinum hair. Five Boroughs has left me in awe from the very beginning (I started with book two, Sunset Park,) and even after fi [...]

I didn't feel anything to either character. Wait let me not lie, Chris was involved and others from Ray's crew. Can't wait for there stories.I stopped using the word Thirsty in high school so for me everyone being thirsty or salty was annoying. I love his colaboration with Megan Erickson but I started the Five Boroughs series when the first book came out but I couldn't connect with the Michael in book 1 and David ruined book2 for me so I was done. I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed this.Mr. Hassell has the ability to reach into your heart, grab it and squeeze it for all it's worth and that is exactly what he did here.Ashton was an interesting character. He was a conflicted, messy & deeply flawed human being. It's a wonder how he still managed to be a sweetheart ; especially to those he cared for. He allowed himself to be continuously taken advantage of by everyone;family included, all in the hopes of acceptance and love. At a point my ch [...]

His parents really did a number on him and have dismissed him as an embarrassment to the family and now his brother Dylan, who has taken over the family business, is no better, using Ashton to save his own incompetent ass. Ashton has been left with little self-worth, always putting himself down. He is dying on the inside while putting on a show for [...]
