    1. Great readI enjoyed going back in time with Lizzie. I've often imagined what it would be like to live during slavery.

    2. Not Outlander, But a Pretty Good Time Travel BookYes, the heroine Lizzie goes back in time, but this time through the mysterious lights seen on Brown Mountain in North Carolina. The time she slips to is 1859, some 110 years before her time of 1969. A student in medical school she came upon the lights as she and her boyfriend Ben camp on the mountain one night on the way to Woodstock. One she goes through the light she comes out disoriented realizing she doesn't recognize her surroundings which a [...]

    3. It took me a while to get into this book! The lights were a bit mystical and since I wasn't familiar with the author I wasn't sure if it would turn out to be a book I would enjoy or a book that was filled with Unorthodox spiritual themes. I'm glad I got back to it! It was a good book that finally pulled me in. It seemed to hop around a bit in topic but turns out it's just book one so hopefully there will be some closure in book two!Reagan did a wonderful job narrating! Her soft spoken Southern a [...]

    4. Tremendously exciting book! Wow! I loved this book! It gripped me from the first page. Kept reading to find out what Lizzie would find on the other side of the LIGHT when it sucked her in! Can't say too much more without spoiling the plot, but the ending left me wanting more of Lizzie's adventures and wondering what happens to her new friends on the OTHER side? And what happens to her on THIS side? Book 2, here I come. The Tillery sisters certainly know how to write to mesmerize their readers. C [...]

    5. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is time travel book but it's not so much about time travel as it is about how a modern day woman deals with the culture of the Appalachian mountains in pre-civil war time. The lack of sanitation, the lack of women's rights, the lack of medical knowledge to treat disease are all shocking as it would be to any of us. But amongst all this she finds friendship and kindness and she begins to form a respect for women of that time and culture.

    7. CC,Tillery has done it again. She has written another great novel depicting an age we only read about by bringing a time and people into our hearts. Another great read I couldn't put down. Onto the next part of the series.

    18. through the Brown Mountain Lights, Book 1by C. C. Tillery, This is an easy to read book, with some historical description relating to the period of time it takes place, about 1859. It is written so that it is adequate for younger people as well as older ones. 19. This could have been an amazing book. But somehow the author managed to mess it up. It starts out well enough, but really drags down throughout most of the book. It could have went in so many different directions with the topic of basic time travel, but it just stalled! And about the ending it was bad. I don't know another way to put it! It's like the author just decided to end the book in the middle of a sentence!

    20. I hate books with no endingThis was a good book right up until the end. I dislike books that leave you hanging. There may or may not be a sequel but I do not want to rely on a second book to tell me the end.
