    1. This is a cute little story of Little Polar Bear Lars helping another lost animal figure out a way home. This time it's a puffin whose feathers and coated in oil so he is unable to fly. They come across a hot-air balloon and (accidentally) get caught in it as it takes off. Lars finally gets to try flying and the puffin gets to go home.Illustrations are beautiful. The ice floes and the hot air balloon one was particularly pretty.

    2. This is a fun story with adorable characters and beautiful illustrations. It's the first book we've read in the Lars the Little Polar Bear series by Hans de Beer. Our girls really enjoyed this story.

    3. Hans de Beer isn't a storyteller and I have grave doubts about hot springs at the North Pole (although, on reflection, that might be the reason for global warming) but the gorgeous illustrations more than compensate.

    4. John enjoys this book. He got excited when after we read this we saw in another book a puffin and a polar bear. The story is somewhat unrefined but the pictures are very nice. John really enjoys it.
