I ona to sigurno jeste jer prikazuje sve ono najodvratnije u međuljudskim odnosima, društvu i njegovim institucijama, odnosu između muža i žene, bez ikakvog ulepšavanja, brutalno iskreno i pošteno.

    3. This book is sheer madness, describing in perverse detail the insane relationship between Strindberg and his first wife. I was left speechless. Powys comment is worth including in its entirety:"Strindberg has obtained, because of his own neurotic and almost feminine clairvoyance, a diabolical insight into the perversities of the feminine character. This merciless insight manifested in all his works reaches its intensest degree in the "Confessions of a Fool," where the woman implicated surpasses [...]

    6. Bespoštena priča o (dis)funkcionalnoj vezi dva sebičnjaka - jedan samodovoljan a drugi večito gladan pažnje.

    7. Niekaip neapsisprendžiu, kokias mano emocijas ir vertinimus pelnė šita knyga. Pasakojimas sklandus, rišlus, spalvingas, itin lengvai skaitomas, todėl literatūrine prasme - knyga puiki. Kita vertus, pati istorija - na, mane nelabai įtikino Šitiek daug tampymosi pirmyn atgal - arba romano veikėjai itin kantrūs, todėl leidžia sau tiek laiko kankintis, tikėdamiesi galų gale pasiekti kitokį rezultatą, arba ganėtinai kvaili, neryžtingi ir nedrąsūs, kad pakeistų gyvenimą. Nė vien [...]

    13. Interesting to read about a relationship and a marriage in Sweden in the 19th century, especially when the two people in the relationship are highly creative individuals who made an impact long after their own lifetime. And what a relationship it must have been! However I felt that it was too full of self-pity, the protagonist painting himself to be a victim, and him pleading his own case. I didn’t really feel the narrative could be trusted.

    16. That Strindberg was a good author wasn't a too big surprise, it was a very good book. It was very interesting to sit and think about the zeitgeist of the time when this book was written, how ideas about women's rights and capabilities has changed and developed, but also about how destructive human relationships still are the same. It made me sit and ponder, which I guess is a sign of a good book, even if I strongly disagree with a number of views and thoughts presented by the author. I did enjoy [...]

    20. realized pretty quickly that this book wasn't for me. sounds great, but golly gosh! who knew?! it's kind of unpleasant! i've read lots of unpleasant books but i guess i wasn't able to settle in to this one at this point in my life. like running into a really aggressive jerky weirdo, you just want to say 'screw you, guy' and get out of there.
